Emily’s passion for the Spanish language, as well as her love of Spanish and Hispanoamerican culture, is contagious, and I’ve definitely caught the bug!

Not only does Emily have a strong command of Spanish, she is also versed in learning theory and linguistics. I always want to know why language rules exist and also how one language differs from another. Emily’s vast knowledge of language acquisition helped me learn at this deeper level.

Emily’s deep understanding of the Spanish language and its nuances is complemented by her sympathy of the struggles experienced by students. This is exemplified by her approach to teaching tricky grammar points in new and different ways.

What makes Emily such an outstanding teacher is her ability to remember what it’s like to be a learner. For a starting-from-zero student like me, that meant she was creative in helping me to truly understand rather than acting impatient with my lack of understanding.
